What a Guy

Another of the wonderful McCaws that live full time in Butterfly World....It's nice being able to get so close to them, as long as you stay at a "safe" distance..I hear they can get mean when they want to, and those beaks look awful sharp!!

Lee from Fort Frances Ontario, Canada

Looks like he's pondering the anwser to the question. Or, is he asking himself, what was the question?
Either way you have an exceptional shot of this bird. It shows every minute detail in every feather, and the eye, and the beak, and the toe.
Very well captured.

23 Jun 2009 2:51am

@Lee: Thanks much Lee.... it's much easier to get a shot like this, when the birds are basically a "captive audience".......

MMC Photos from THE COLONY, United States

spectacular close up, you can see each detail of the feather. Beaks are wicked, when I worked at a pet shop as a young person, the parrot clamped it's beak on the skin in between the nostrils of this guys nose. Don't get too close!

23 Jun 2009 3:48am

@MMC Photos: Yes, there are signs all around the mccaws that say "don't get too close"...... i love watching the idiots, that stick their hands out to them!!!
